MACS Awareness Week runs from 12th to 18th September.

1 Sep 2022

MACS is the national charity supporting children and adults born with one of, or sometimes a combination of, three rare eye conditions: Microphthalmia (small eye), Anophthalmia (no eye) and Coloboma (cleft or gap in the eye structure).

We have been delighted to welcome over 100 new families to our charity in the last 12 months and now support over 3,000 members from 1,000 different families. We offer ongoing support to the families who are affected by these rare and irreversible conditions through a number of services and projects.

With an estimated 6,700 living with a MACS condition and only a sixth of that number being supported by us, raising awareness of the conditions and our support is vital to our mission to be here for everyone that needs us.

We would love for you to help us with this mission by getting involved during our MACS Awareness Week, which runs from 12th to 18th September. You can do this by:

  • Taking some literature to pass out to your congregation
  • Hosting a MACS Coffee Morning
  • Holding a collection
  • Planning your own event in aid of MACS

If you’d like to find out a little more about the MACS conditions and the services we offer, you should be able to find all the information you need here: www.macs.org.uk, but please do let us know if you have any questions.

Please get in touch if you’d like to be involved in this year’s MACS Awareness Week and we’ll do everything we can to support you.

Thank you in advance from everyone at MACS: your local, national MACS charity.
